Louise Dueholm

My name is Louise and I am the editor and founder of CakeJournal. My cake adventure started when I was baking my own wedding cake back in 2002. In 2007 my brother came up with the idea, that I should start blogging about my cakes and soon CakeJournal was born.

Here on CakeJournal I will share my tips and tricks about cake decorating. I especially love making tutorials on how to make sweet cake decorations for any occasion.

I live on the beautiful country side in Vordingborg, Denmark together with my husband and our two children.

Besides baking and writing on CakeJournal I also enjoy DIY craft projects, gardening and looking after my little flock of chickens, that deliver the fresh eggs for my cakes.

Abeer Rizvi

Hey guys, I am Abeer, a 20-something gal living in Chicago with my wonderful husband and beautiful baby boy though I am originally from Canada. I am the biggest “chocoholic” you will ever meet and LOVE cakes & cupcakes! Baking them. Eating them. And especially, decorating them.

However, I wasn’t always crazy about decorating. My journey started in 2010 when I enrolled in Wilton’s basic cake decorating course just for fun. Little did I know this would give birth to a NEW hobby! I was instantly HOOKED and pretty soon, I was decorating anything and everything from cakes to cupcakes to cookies. I just couldn’t stop…

But, it’s been a challenging journey with many ups and downs. I learn something new everyday and enjoy sharing my triumphs and failures with everyone. I hope that I inspire you to make pretty treats for your loved ones too :)

Aikko Aragon

Hi, I’m Aikko and I’m a banker by day. By night, remove the “n” in banker and you’ll meet my alter ego – Aikko, the baker. In between, I run my blog, Bake Happy – the one proof that I have a lifelong love affair with sugar and all things sweet.

I’ve been baking since I was young but it was only recently that I discovered my love for cake and cupcake decorating and started sharing what I know through my blog. I hope to share my sweet ideas here on Cake Journal and I hope you’ll find them helpful.

Beth Mottershead

Hi, I am Beth, the cake obsessed designer and general geek behind Cakes by Beth. I am located in Manchester, UK.

Originally a research scientist with a passion for art, I stumbled upon cake decorating and fell in love.

My hobby became an obsession and after honing my skills in my spare time, I set up in business in the Spring of 2011, specializing in contemporary wedding cakes and cute animals. I love to put my own spin on things and use standard equipment to create new looks and effects.

Diane Hollanti

Hi my name is Diane. I live in Thunder Bay, Ontario Canada. I am a self-taught caker and have always enjoyed baking.

In 2009 I started making my children’s birthday cakes and then my friends started to ask me to make their birthday cakes….and really the rest is history :) I started to watch YouTube videos about cake decorating, read cake decorating books, learning online, and then I decided to open up a home-based business which opened early 2010.

My main focus with my business was homemade cake recipes with as many local ingredients as possible as well as great tasting cake with less sugar and no chemical preservatives. I also offer gluten free, egg free, dairy free and nut free options to my clients.

Gillian Baum

Hi my name is Gillian, from Jillybean Cake Couture London.

I grew up in Liverpool, where my passion for cakes began at an early age. I would watch my grandmother, a talented baker, royal ice wedding cakes in her kitchen mesmerised. And so my cake bug began.

I have a diploma in sugarcraft and I have been making cakes as a business now for 7 years. I hope to impart some of my knowledge to you, and inspire you to bake and try new things.

Renee Daly

My name is Renée and I’m the Cake Fairy. I live in Northern New Jersey.

Eight years ago, life took a major shift when I became a new mom and left my corporate career to stay at home.

I loved my new life, but needed a creative outlet! Cake decorating became a way to express myself, while making other people happy.

I’m mostly self-taught and have explored many techniques for making beautiful cake decorations.

I’m so thrilled to share my knowledge on CakeJournal!

Rose Atwater

I am Rose… child of God, wife to Richy, homeschooling mommy to 6 kiddos, and a girl fulfilling my dreams to decorate cakes!

I got my first Wilton decorating kit at the age of 13 – it was at the top of my Christmas list! However, for the next 20 years, I only did a few cakes here and there for family and friends. Then in 2009, my brother asked (actually, insisted) that I do his wedding cake! I reluctantly agreed and the rest is history!

After posting a few pictures of practice cakes on Facebook, the requests started rolling in and I’ve never looked back! I’m completely self-taught and I am continually learning new things myself! My favorite part of caking is seeing the happy faces of customers when they fall in love with their cake!

I’m so excited to be sharing here on CakeJournal and I look forward to “meeting” lots of new cake enthusiasts!

Much to the delight of my friends and family, my latest love is cake decorating. I currently reside in Singapore with my wonderful husband and two little girls.
