Back in October last year, my former co-writer Michelle wrote about two sisters, Sandra Salamony and Gina Brown.
They were seeking submissions of photos with decorated cupcakes, cakes and cookies for their new book: 1,000 Ideas for Decorating Cupcakes, Cakes and Cookies. After seeing the interesting cover of the book, I was wondering if some of CakeJournals readers will be featured in the book with their sweet creations? Please share with me.

Oh! This post is a little bit old, but I just wanted to share that I am in the book too. Those days I was so busy and pregnant! So I never heard about the submissions, I had the luck that in December 31st Gina herself sent me a Flickr mail inviting me to participate. I was unsure because I did not know if it was real, but a friend of mine helped me to know that it was real. I sent my photos the last day (I had only 7 days to investigate and think!). A year ago I was told that 14 of my photos had made it. I’m very happy because since then many people have contacted me to congratulate me for what I do, I never would have imagined!

wow, i have seen some cakes in my time but these are wonderful. its lovely that you had allowed other people to submit their cakes. A truly wonderful site.

Hi,
I saw the ad for submussion in your website and responded while riding on the bus to work. Five months later Gina contacted me and 28 of my creations were shortlisted and eventually 16 were successful. Thanks so much and I’m proud to have my work on display for my kids to see for a lifetime.

YES!! me too!! i have 12 fotos to this book! and I was thak to you that I have made the submission.. I was starting my new life in sugar paste and cake designer world so I’m sooo excited that they chosse some of my cakes

I was approached by the sisters and they’ve included about 10 or 11 of my cake and cookie photos. I’m excited to see other people’s work. I just had a meeting with some folks at Squires Kitchen in Surrey and may be teaching cake classes in London next year.

I found out about the book from you….they chose 2 of my designs to be in the book. My billiard balls – cupcakes and my gerbera daisies and butterflies – cupcakes.
