Back in October last year, my former co-writer Michelle wrote about two sisters, Sandra Salamony and Gina Brown.
They were seeking submissions of photos with decorated cupcakes, cakes and cookies for their new book: 1,000 Ideas for Decorating Cupcakes, Cakes and Cookies. I picked up this book in a bookstore today and thought it was incredible. I had no idea I’d be on this website later on looking at it! I must go and pick up a copy next time I go in.

hi Louise i love your website its got excellent tips and great ideas especially for a beginner like me. I’ve just gotten into cake decorating and i was just wondering how i can let people know that i actually want to do this for a living and just bake for any occasion. i would love to hear from you and get some advice.

Oh! This post is a little bit old, but I just wanted to share that I am in the book too. Those days I was so busy and pregnant! So I never heard about the submissions, I had the luck that in December 31st Gina herself sent me a Flickr mail inviting me to participate. I was unsure because I did not know if it was real, but a friend of mine helped me to know that it was real. I sent my photos the last day (I had only 7 days to investigate and think!). A year ago I was told that 14 of my photos had made it. I’m very happy because since then many people have contacted me to congratulate me for what I do, I never would have imagined!

wow, i have seen some cakes in my time but these are wonderful. its lovely that you had allowed other people to submit their cakes. A truly wonderful site.
