Crystal colors

I have been so lucky to try out a new product on the market. Its called Crystal colors and they are fantastic to work with. Not only do they come in a range of beautiful colors that is perfect for painting and dusting your cakes and gumpaste flowers but you can also color your fondant, icing and even white chocolate with these wonder powders. Only remember not to use a white workboard when you use the powders as it can be hard to get rid of stains afterwards ;-)

ALL COLORS ARE FDA AND EU FOOD APPROVED.

I find the Crystal Colors very easy to work with and a little really goes a long way. I was surprised to see how quick it blended into the fondant (blue & green), even the royal icing (peach) and the white chocolate (blue) was so easy to color. A good tip is when you want to use it for royal icing or chocolate is to “grind” the powder between two teaspoons to get it super fine in texture and it will then mix in perfectly.     Hi Louise ~ I am so glad you have this information about Crystal Colors!  I picked up 12 colors at a Cake Competition in my area back in February and haven’t used them yet.  I googled “Crystal Colors” and when I saw that “Cake Journal” came up, I was extremely excited!  The question I had was answered below and will make my life easier when using with vodka.  I am working on a Mardi Gras Sweet 16 cake and need the intense colors that this will provide me.  As always, I look forward to your next posting.  Thank you ~ Diana

      Diana: You will love working with the CC. I also use them for coloring deep colored fondant. Powder + gel paste colors = beautiful & intense colors :-)

    Cat: Yes you can paint on royal icing. They are really strong in the color. I have a few with luster.

    Can I use these colors with vodka/extracts to paint on dried royal icing? Is there luster or sparkles in it?

    Gabrielle: im not sure. I think that she use powders from Edable Art. They have a large range of glitters and sparkles.

    Sharlene: I have not tried to mix the black with fondnat. But it do say that there is no bitternes in tasting. Otherwise have you tried bakels black RTR??

    Emily: No sorry. But the colors match really close with the dry powder.
