Today I’m going to show you How to Make Baby Carriage Cupcake Toppers. These adorable toppers are perfect for baby showers and can be changed up for a baby boy or baby girl!
They’re also easy to put together and can be made ahead to save time and placed on the cupcakes at the last minute!
Here’s what you’ll need:
Fondant in the colors for your design (I only used pink and white)
Small rolling pin
Sugar glue and small paint brush
Round cookie cutters (I used a 2″ cutter, 3/4″ cutter and a very tiny cutter less than 1/2″)
Square cookie cutter (2″)
Small flower cutter (I used a punch with mold)
Small knife and/or pastry wheel
Start by rolling out the pink fondant (or the main color) and cutting out 2″ circles.
Use the square cutter to cut out a quarter of each circle to make the main carriage shape.
Roll out white fondant and using the frill cutter and a pastry wheel to cut a very narrow strip of frills to accent the top of the carriage.
Cut tiny sections (I cut mine about 1″ long) to put along the top of the carriage. I cut the 3 little “bumps” then squished them close together and glued to the carriage.
Cut out small circles for the wheels and attach them to the bottom of the carriage.
Repeat the above step with smaller pink circles. Attach them with sugar glue.
Cut out small flowers for the carriage handle and attach them with glue.
Allow these toppers to dry for a couple of days so that they harden and will hold their shape on cupcakes!
And you’re finished!
