Use larger styrofoam dummies for the center and use a strong double sided carpet tape maybe? I would make sure that once assembled the cake stand will not be moved around with.

You will have to add new paper for each use. You can use oilcloth as this can be wiped off with a damp cloth.

How many uses can you get out of this? It’s seems like the paper would get ruined after one use from the icing and such.

Cake dummy/Cake dummies can be found in cake decorating supply stores and some crafts stores like Hobby lobby. Global sugar art.com have them. Some do sell 4″ high dummies so then you would only need 1 per tier. If they are only 2″ then you need two per tier and glue them together.

Where do I get the dummies from? Hobby lobby? and is dummies the actual name for them? Just want to make sure when I ask for them. and its 2 dummies for each size correct(totalling 4 I would need)? Unless I am able to find the bigger size, then only 1 is needed for each size (totalling 2 I would need only)

The cake stand in the tutorial is for 50 cupcakes. I would not recommend to make one that holds 150 and don’t know what sizes to use then. I would recommend to make 3 cake stands.

I would not suggest to make it in different sizes than given in the tutorial. You can make single tiers fro the rest of the cupcakes or place them around the cake stand on the table.

As long as the cupcake cake is not bigger than a 6″ cake and the cake stand is well assembled so it do not fall apart. I think that it will work. You may need to support the top tier when cutting the cake.

my daughters first birthday party is coming up next Saturday and i made one but i did squares instead and i just cut up and old card board box and some scrapbook paper on top and on my styrofoam dummies. i got my styrofoam dummies and the dollar tree so i spent a total of 6 dollars on mine and i did a 4 tier

This is a great idea!
I have a suggestion that may make this a reusable item, and easier to clean up. (Cupcakes tend to leave grease marks and bits of frosting or sprinkles may get smudged around.)
Use a washable surface like reusable tablecloth or placemat instead of the gift-wrap paper.

I used the cake boards (cake drum) made in the UK which are thicker. Global Sugar Art stock the thick ones and so do Cake Supplies Depot. Both also have dummies

It depends how wide the poster tubes are but your idea on using those is GREAT!
