In reply to Diana. Diana: You will love working with the CC. I also use them for coloring deep colored fondant. Powder + gel paste colors = beautiful & intense colors :-)

Hi Louise ~ I am so glad you have this information about Crystal Colors! I picked up 12 colors at a Cake Competition in my area back in February and haven’t used them yet. I googled “Crystal Colors” and when I saw that “Cake Journal” came up, I was extremely excited! The question I had was answered below and will make my life easier when using with vodka. I am working on a Mardi Gras Sweet 16 cake and need the intense colors that this will provide me. As always, I look forward to your next posting. Thank you ~ Diana

Cat: Yes you can paint on royal icing. They are really strong in the color. I have a few with luster.

Can I use these colors with vodka/extracts to paint on dried royal icing? Is there luster or sparkles in it?

Gabrielle: im not sure. I think that she use powders from Edable Art. They have a large range of glitters and sparkles.
