Pink Bow Cake

Who knew gray and pink colors would work so beautifully together, especially on a cake?!

I made this simple and elegant pink bow cake over the weekend with that color scheme and just decorated with bows.

To make this cake, you will need the following supplies:

  • Carrot cake
  • Buttercream icing
  • Edible silver spray
  • Edible golden spray
  • Pizza cutter
  • Gray fondant
  • Pink fondant
  • Corn syrup or royal icing
  • Paintbrush
  • Wax paper

Notes:
– This is a very small tiered cake. The top tier was about 3 in x 3 in and the bottom tier was about 4 in x 3 in. But, you can apply today’s tutorial on a bigger cake too.

These are the instructions:

Step 1:
Roll out a long rope out of pink fondant and flatten it with fingers or a rolling pin.

Step 2:
Use a pizza cuter to cut off excess until you are left with a long rectangular shape.

Step 3:
Flip one end of the rectangular piece into a loop, as shown in the picture.

Step 4:
Flip the other end of the rectangular piece into a loop too, as shown in the picture.

Step 5:
Cut off excess at the bottom.

Step 6:
Place the bow on a sheet of wax paper and spray some gold mist all over it.

Step 7:
Also, spray some silver mist all over the bow.

Step 8:
Let the bows dry completely (I let them dry overnight so they become hard).
The next day, prepare your cakes, frost them, cover them in gray fondant and stack them.
Stick the bows on the cake, using royal icing or corn syrup.
And you are done!

Well, that’s all for today.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.

Happy caking everyone! 🙂
