4 DIY Valentine’s Day Treats Recipes

by Louise Leave a Comment

Celebrating Valentine’s Day this year? Well whether or not you are, I’ve got some pretty cute and easy dessert recipes for you. I created 4 adorable (and pink) recipes that are perfect Valentine’s Day treats for your whole family. You can even make these Valentine’s Day treats for school parties!

They are portable and can be put in a bag with a cute ribbon for your kiddos. Everyone will be loving them for the delicious dessert. These can also be handed out to co-workers or friends as a Valentine’s Day gift idea.

Baking Valentine’s Day Treats

This is a great DIY project for you and the kids or even the hubby. These simple desserts are surprisingly super easy to make. You would think they would take longer because they’re so adorable.

I created pink velvet cheesecake bars, strawberry milkshake cookies, chocolate-dipped chocolate chip cookies, and white chocolate heart bark bites. I’m really happy with how they turned out and I can’t wait to give them out on February 14th! So let’s hop right into these awesome (and did I say pink?) desserts.

1. Pink Velvet Cheesecake Marble Brownies

What you need:

  • 1 package of white cake mix
  • 1 stick (1/2 cup) butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 6 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp of pink gel food coloring
  • 1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg

How to make these Valentine’s Day Treats:

  1. Preheat the oven to 325ºF. Line a 9×13 inch pan with parchment paper, then spray it with baking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, butter, egg, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 2 tbsp milk, and food coloring.
  3. Evenly spread 1/2 of the batter onto the pan and reserve the other half.
  4. Add 4 tbsp to the remaining brownie mixture. Stir until combined.
  5. In another bowl, combine the cream cheese, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract.
  6. Spread the cream cheese mixture on top of the brownie mixture.
  7. Drizzle the remaining brownie mixture on the cream cheese and spread it around with a fork to create a marble effect.
  8. Bake for 25 minutes. Once fully cooked (the center will jiggle) put it in the freezer for about 1-2 hours until firm.
  9. Cut them into squares and store extras in the fridge. Enjoy!

2. Strawberry Milkshake Cookies

What you need:

  • 1 package strawberry cake mix
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups white chocolate chips

How to make these Valentine’s Day Treats:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350ºF and grease a baking pan.
  2. Combine all the ingredients with a hand mixer or stand mixer.
  3. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 10minutes and no longer or they will burn.
  5. Let them cool and enjoy!

3. Chocolate-Dipped Chocolate Chip Cookie Hearts

What you need:

  • Chocolate chip cookie dough (homemade or pre-made)
  • Heart-shaped cookie cutters
  • Milk chocolate
  • Valentine’s Day sprinkles

[amazon box=”B00ISF5W3E” template= “horizontal”]

How to make these Valentine’s Day Treats:

  1. Roll out your cookie dough. Using the cookie cutter cut out your hearts and put them on a greased baking sheet.
  2. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
  3. If your cookies have spread out and look like blobs rather than hearts (mine unfortunately did) I have a quick fix. When the cookies are done baking, use the same cookie cutter and cut them out again. You want to do this immediately after you take them out of the oven so it’s easy to cut them.
  4. Let your cookies cool for 10 minutes
  5. Melt your chocolate. Dip half (or a corner) of the cookie into the chocolate. Dip a few at a time, then sprinkle whatever pink/Valentine’s Day-themed sprinkles you have. You want to make sure the chocolate doesn’t harden before you add your sprinkles.
  6. Once all of the cookies have been coated and decorated you’re done!

4. White Chocolate Heart Bark Bites

What you need:

  • White chocolate
  • Valentine’s Day sprinkles
  • Heart-shaped baking pan

How to make these Valentine’s Day Treats:

  1. Spray the heart-shaped pan with baking spray.
  2. Add a layer of sprinkles to each cup in the pan, fully covering the bottom of each.
  3. Melt your chocolate and add some into each cup of the pan, on top of the sprinkles.
  4. Put the pan in the freezer for about an hour or until they have hardened
  5. Store extras in the fridge and enjoy!
