Sweet Sally’s Bakeshop Review and Giveaway

by Louise 10 Comments

Disclosure:  Sweet Sally’s Bakeshop sent me the “Tower of Love”  for my review. However, all opinions expressed in this post are 100% mine.

I haven’t waited so anxiously for the mail like I did last week…

You see…Sweet Sally’s Bakeshop emailed me, saying that some amazing goodies were in the mail.

I had seen  pictures and details of the package on their site and everything looked DELICIOUS.

I was dying to try them out!

I received a package from their special Valentine’s day collection called  the “Tower of Love.”
Btw,  cute name… don’t you think ? 🙂

My package arrived on time, completely intact and very nicely packaged.

There were 3 boxes stacked on top of each other, held together by a pretty red bow.

The first box had 6 pink and whites.
The second box had 6 heart shaped brownies.
And the third box had 6 raspberry bars.

All their goodies are kosher certified, handmade, free of preservatives and trans-fats, which is just fantastic!

And if you want to know the list of ingredients for each item, you can find them on their site or inside their boxes.

My package even had a sweet, handwritten note from Sally which I really appreciate 🙂

Anyways, let me tell you more about these goodies…

I will start with my favorite… those Brownies!

Goodness gracious… these were HEAVENLY and they barely lasted a day at my place…lol.

I truly have no self-control when it comes to brownies, especially when they are THIS GOOD!

I couldn’t resist taking a bite, when photographing them…hahah.

Since brownies are one of my all-time favorite treats, I am very particular about their taste and texture and these were PERFECT! They were soft, fudgy, choco-licious with a thin crackly top… drool!

I also adored their heart shapes. It makes them perfect for Valentine’s day 🙂

Next up are these Raspberry bars…

These were probably the richest and most phenomenal bars I have ever had and packed with so much flavor!

They had a dense buttery crust, filled with raspberry preserves and a delicious coconut and walnut streusel topping.

My husband went crazy for these!

And finally Pink and White cookies…

These cookies are a variation of the classic black and white cookies.

I liked the fact that a portion of profits from the sale of these cookies go to to the Susan G. Komen foundation for the cure of cancer.

Sadly, this was my least favorite item in the package 🙁

I mean the cookies were pretty and had a nice texture. They weren’t too soft or too hard. Perfect for dunking in your coffee or just eating as is. I also liked the hint of lemon flavor in each bite.

However, I did not like the pink/white royal icing or glace icing on the top. That icing made these cookies too sweet for my liking. I also don’t think that icing was complimenting the cookies too well. Instead, the cookies would have tasted better if they were covered in pink and white melted chocolate.

BUT, this is just a personal preference/opinion.
