mini sushi cakes

It’s fun to use food, especially cakes to have fun with people πŸ˜›

I made these mini cakes that look like sushi a while ago and my husband took them to work. Most of his colleagues thought they were the real deal and were quite surprised when they took their first bite and realized it was actually cake! hehehe

To make mini sushi cakes, you will need the following supplies/ingredients:
Pound cake
Chocolate buttercream icing
Circle cutter
Shredded coconut
Black or dull green colored fondant
Candy corn (or any other orange/yellow candies)
Pizza cutter
Spatula

These are the steps:

Step 1:
-Bake a pound cake or buy a pound cake from your grocery store.
-Use a circle cutter to cut out circular pieces…They should be about 2 inches high and 2 inches wide.

Hahahaha, it’s so funny that the co workers of your husband were fooled by them! Didn’t you want to see the look on their faces when they bite them? I bet it was great to see the surprise on their face! Your husband must have a great day at work that day! I still can laugh about the idea! I really love those litte “surprise” cakes! A great idea for a birthday for example. Thanks for sharing your lovely story and idea! Have a great week! πŸ˜‰

I love the fact you fooled those guys but i can tell when something is sushi and when it isn’t because i love sushi and so does my daughter she got me to try it one time when we went out to eat at a chinese restaurant and i tried it for the first time and i loved it but i can do without the hot mustard and i like soy sauce on it instead of the mustard so now i eat it when ever i go visit my daughter!!
