Halloween Cake Pops

October 18, 2015 by Louise Leave a Comment

My kids enjoy spending time in the kitchen with me while making new and exciting things. These Halloween cake pops were no exception.

Cake pops

With Halloween parties in full effect, these are great for kids and even adults.

To make the pops you will need…

  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups cake flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter

Step 1: Lightly beat eggs, milk, and vanilla in a bowl with a fork; set aside.

Step 2: Combine dry ingredients in a large bowl. Add butter with an electric mixer on low speed until butter is in pieces no bigger than a small pea.

Step 3: Gradually add the egg mixture to the mix, making sure you scrape the sides of the bowl periodically to assure all ingredients are well incorporated.

Step 4: Spray the cake pop pan with non-stick spray and sprinkle with flour to keep pops from sticking. Pour the batter into pop pan and bake at 350 degrees for 15-18 minutes.

To decorate, you will need lollipop sticks, colored “white chocolate” and milk chocolate wafers, and your choice of sprinkles.

Melt the chocolate in a melting pot, adding a little bit of cooking oil to thin the chocolate out. Once the chocolate is at a thin and smooth consistency, drop a cake ball in the chocolate and roll with a spoon until completely covered. Place on a piece of wax paper to cool but do not allow the chocolate to harden. When the chocolate begins to cool down, roll the pop ball in the sprinkles you chose to use. and place on a clean sheet of wax paper and insert lollipop stick. If you want to change it up a little, you can drizzle different colored chocolate over the base coat. Allow the chocolate to cool and harden.

Now you have created these fun and cute halloween cake pops.
