How To Decorate A Cake With Swirled Chocolate

People assume that cake decorating can only be done with fondant and buttercream and forget that chocolate is also a great medium for cake decorating.

For today’s tutorial, I am sharing a cake that’s decorated with swirled rose chocolate pieces.

To make this cake, you will need the following ingredients and supplies:

Melted white chocolate
Red chocolate coloring or Rose syrup (found at Indian stores by the name of “Rooh Afza”)
Square chocolate cake (Dimensions: 4×6)
Pink buttercream icing
Toothpicks
Spatula
Wax paper

These are the instructions:

Step 1:
Melt the chocolate in the microwave.
Line your counter or cookie tray with wax paper (I like to secure the wax paper by taping it down so that it doesn’t move around).
Pour the melted chocolate on top of your wax paper.
Use a spatula to spread it out evenly.

Step 2:
Pour red coloring or rose syrup randomly all over the melted chocolate.

Step 3:
Move a toothpick around the chocolate in a random motion until you have lots of swirls.
Now, just let the chocolate harden and set.

Tip:

If you had spread the chocolate on a cookie tray, you can place the tray it in the freezer for 10-15 minutes to speed up the process.

Step 4:

Once the swirled chocolate has set, break it up into smaller pieces.

Step 5:

Bake the cakes and frost them in pink buttercream icing.
Stick the chocolate pieces all over the cake.
