This year, I will be making a monster cake for our annual Halloween party. But this monster cake, can be great for any birthday party or occasion. You can easily learn how to make a monster cake for any Halloween festivity or even for your little man’s birthday party!

It’s cute but slightly creepy….haha

To make this cake, you will need the following ingredients and supplies:

  • Round banana chocolate chip cake
  • Orange buttercream icing
  • 2 peppermint patties
  • 2 blue m&m candies
  • Black edible marker
  • 2 piping bags
  • Tip # 21
  • Tip # 3

Note:I made a small cake (Dimensions: 5 inches x 5 inches ) for this tutorial but you can make a bigger cake, if you like.

Here are the instructions:

1

Step 1

Fill and frost a cake with orange frosting. You don’t have to be neat since all the flaws will soon get covered up.

2

Step 2

Fill a piping bag with orange frosting and attach Tip #21.Hold the bag, as shown in this picture.Squeeze the bag until icing comes out and quickly pull downwards towards yourself.Keep doing this until the sides of the cake are covered in these frosted ruffles.

3

Step 3

Now, let’s frost the top of the cake…Hold the bag, as shown in this picture.Squeeze the bag until icing comes out and quickly pull upwards towards yourself.Keep doing this until the top of the cake is covered in these frosted ruffles.

4

Step 4

Unwrap 2 peppermint patties and stick them on top of the cake.

5

Step 5

Draw circles on 2 m&m candies with a black edible marker.Stick them on the peppermint patties with some frosting.

6

Step 6

Fill a piping bag with black icing and attach Tip # 3 (or you can just cut a very small hole in a piping bag).Pipe a squiggly smile on this monster cake.

And you are done!

Well, that’s all for today.I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.Happy caking everyone! ?
