March 30, 2018 by Louise 1 Comment

Is there any child or, for that matter, a person in the world who doesn’t love Mickey Mouse or Disney in general? We think not. Disney characters, including and especially Mickey Mouse are well-loved among the young and the young at heart. As such, it’s no surprise that bakers get a lot of requests each year for Mickey Mouse cakes. And, the good news is that you don’t have to be a “cake boss” to make adorable Mickey Mouse cakes.

In fact, there are all kinds of ways to get a mouse-tacular cake for your next big event.

Mickey Mouse Cakes: Make Three Cakes of Varying Sizes

Everyone knows the two ears and round face Mickey Mouse design. It’s practically woven into American culture.

And, fortunately, this popular symbol is very easy to create in cake form. All you have to do is make three round cakes of varying sizes.

Two smaller cakes should be baked that are identical in nature. These will be placed to either side at the top of a larger round cake. Those two smaller cakes will serve as Mickey’s ears while the larger one will act as his head.

Ice them in Mickey Mouse black and, if you’re feeling creative, add a little bow tie or even a face, and you’ve got a simple, adorable Mickey Mouse cakes that everyone will love.

Here’s a video tutorial on how to make a Mickey Mouse cake:

Create Two Cute Cakes for an Adorable Duo to Die for

When you think of Mickey Mouse, his longtime comrade Minnie Mouse probably comes to mind. If you want to include Minnie in your cake baking, then make two cakes that look just the same.

You can use the above design or try something else. Either way, just make sure one cake gets a hair bow to tell apart Mickey and Minnie.

This is a fun way to have plenty of cake for everyone and to not leave out Mickey’s famed partner.

Keep It Simple with a Sheet Cake

Any bakery around is sure to have sheet cakes. In fact, these are what the simpler, cheaper bakeries, like the ones you might find in a grocery store, tend to specialize in.

Most of these types of bakeries keep a book full of designs that they can do, and 99.9% of the time, there will be some kind of Mickey/Disney design. In fact, you can likely find more than one design of this type to choose from.

Mickey Mouse is so very popular and such an iconic character that you’d be hard-pressed to find a bakery that doesn’t do Mickey Mouse cakes.

So, if you want to keep it simple and keep your costs down, just flip through the book at the local bakery and pick a Mickey-inspired sheet cake.

Cake pops have gotten very popular in recent years. In case you’re not familiar with them, these are just little miniature cakes, in the shape of a lollipop put on a stick.

These are super easy to make. In fact, you can even find special molds specifically for making cake pops.

And, believe it or not, there is a special Mickey Mouse cake pop maker that creates cake pops in the shape of Mickey Mouse. Buy one of these, and you’ll be all set with the Mickey Mouse “cake.” Best of all, you can make only what you need, ensuring you don’t have a lot of leftovers that could go to waste.

If you don’t want to shell out for the cake pop maker, don’t worry. You can easily draw Mickey Mouse on the cake pops with icing or use Mickey Mouse colors to achieve the same effect.

If you are someone who likes to keep things simple or if you’re working with a limited budget, don’t worry. You can achieve great results just by having the right cake toppers.

Make a simple but tasty cake and then top it with Mickey Mouse themed toppers. You should be able to find these at any grocery store or really any store in general.

If you don’t want to go with standard toppers, you could even try small Mickey Mouse toys. They should be quite easy to find.
